'Inoteca is one of those rare hipster establishments that have managed to stay that way while actually living up to the hype. It probably has something to do with superstar Chef, Mario Batali whose northern Italian fare is positively scrumptious at this Lower East Side staple. With plates to share like figs and sheep's milk provolone, as well as a variety of healthful classics and an amazing tasting menu for larger parties, Inoteca is ideal for late-night nosh after a concert at the Annex, a birthday dinner with foodie-friends, or just a dinner out with a gal pal or boy toy. And as an added bonus, this restaurant boasts an exceptional wine list (there's a wine cellar available for private parities below the main dining room) as well as a full bar along the back corner of the room for a quick bite or hipster first-date. The atmosphere is loud, bustling, and its perpetually crowded with cool kids and Brooklyn-ite celebrities like Adrien Grenier and Josh Hartnett - so expect to wait for a table - even if it's Tuesday. However we can assure you, it's well worth the wait.
