Not the normal Sunday night Chinese food that you're used to after a weekend of non-stop action. But it does hit that spot like your local order-in favorite. Actually it's better. MR CHOW is the cat's meow of gourmet Chinese in New York. Strike that! It's the bee's knees of Chinese in America. Ask any fashionista, hipster, or foodie. They will all agree that MR CHOW, the man and the restaurant, have become international icons of gourmet grub. Michael Chow, a jack of all trades, has actually mastered the art of restauranteur with the latest addition to his global high-end chain. Located in the heart of Tribeca, MR CHOW downtown has the uptown social elite, who normally don't go below 42nd street, running all the way to Hudson and N Moore for the famous Peking duck, scallion pancakes, salt & pepper prawns, shark fin's soup, and the most delectable pot stickers this side of the world. Also, make sure you order the chicken satay as well as the squab - the sauce on the satay is to die for, it's the most delicious (and addictive) chicken in the world, I'm craving it right now! With a sleek white, black, wood decor and comfortable outdoor seating for great people watching, MR CHOW represents the height of fashionable dining. And if you want to see what Michael Chow looks like, just look up at one of the immense murals of the man himself. The downtown local has become a true celebrity hangout. From the A-list to the D-List, some of the most famous stars have become MR CHOW devotees including Zach Braff, Queen Latifah, Ashley Olsen, and Nicole Richie. Even Michael Chow himself has become a celebrity. Despite the high prices (they don't even put them on the menu), Mr. Chow's Tribeca restaurant is a MUST, forget about the cost, and just enjoy it whether you can afford it or not! We actually make a point to gorge at Chow's (in Tribeca, of course) every week. What's more, when the weather is good (actually 3 seasons of the year, in the fall, spring and summer) you can opt to dine outside on a beautiful veranda on one of the hottest streets in Manhattan!
